Case study · Beauty & skincare
Launching a botanical skincare brand to R1.8m in 90 days
01
The challenge
Fynbos & Co. had a beautiful product range, a modest launch budget and no existing customer base. They were competing for attention against established international beauty brands with far deeper pockets.
The brand needed to build awareness and drive sales at the same time — without burning cash on reach that never converted.
02
Our approach
Recruited a creator bench
Partnered with 18 South African skincare creators to produce authentic routines, reviews and ingredient explainers.
Tested hooks at speed
Launched more than 120 creative variations in the first month, cutting underperformers within 72 hours and scaling the winners.
Paired TikTok reach with Meta conversion
Used TikTok to build demand among 18–34 year-olds, then retargeted engaged viewers on Instagram with offer-led creative.
Built for the second purchase
Introduced bundles and a subscribe-and-save offer to lift order value and encourage repeat orders.
03
The results
The launch reached profitability in week three and generated R1.8m in revenue in its first 90 days. A third of first-time buyers have already returned for a second order, giving the brand a strong base to scale into retail.
“The creative testing machine Vantage built was incredible. They found our winning angles in weeks, not months — and every decision was backed by data.”
